La Chaumiere
Lunch: 12.00-14.30. A great lunch spot, situated in the centre of Val Thorens, it has a lovely little sun terrace and a beautiful large interior. Ski over the two bridges in to the centre station then just 30m past the tourist office. Crucially, French locals love it – is there any better sign?

The Best Bars For Apres Ski Val Thorens
If you make the trip and are affected by bad weather, console yourself with the thought that you’ll be able to enjoy yourself in Val Thorens’s many bars and clubs. Some of them could have been parachuted in from the average British high street. Le Viking and the Frog and Roastbeef have live sports, bands and both pack in the revellers night after night.
For a Swedish flavour, Tango is definitely worth a visit, while Rhum Box offers home-made rum. As for the clubs, Malaysia, Underground and Beach Mountain are classic, tacky Alpine nightclubs. They tend to be packed, raucous and very boozy.
