Getting Around Verbier
Verbier is small enough to explore on foot, but free buses run throughout the resort every five to 15 minutes during the day. There are no bus connections with the other resorts in the Quatre Vallées – only expensive taxi rides, should you miss the last lift home!
Activities Verbier
Extensive waymarked winter hiking trails.
Tobogganing: signposted 10 km. run from Savoleyres to la Tzoumaz.
Verbier Sports Centre: Curling, Swimming Pool, Ice Skating, Squash, whirlpools, saunas ans solariums. Pool entry is about €4.75 for guests staying in a hotel in Verbier.
Paragliding.
Non-skiers can visit the resort’s Alpine Museum (rue de la Bérarde), galleries, cinema, shops, tea rooms and spa facilities, or join in the tourist office’s themed walks and visits to local sights.
Cross-Country Skiing And Snowshoeing.
Verbier, Bagnes Valley and their nine surrounding areas have a total of 45 km. of terrain. There are 4 km. of cross-country skiing near the Sports Center, and another 5 km. at 2,200 meters at Les Ruinettes/Le Chaux. We recommend, however, taking the gondola down and accessing the 8 km. of cross-country trails in the Valley de Bagnes below.
There are also several marked snowshoe trails around Verbier. Maps are available at the tourist office. Further nformation is available at the tourist office or at www.sentiers-raquettes.com.
Ice Karting
Purpose built snow racing Go-Karts on a full size snow track with 4 meter high banked ice corners.
