Staying down the valley in Bourg Saint Maurice is a great option. The town has a vibrant feel and is a short funicular ride from the resort. Crucially, accommodation is also much cheaper. The homely three-star Hôtel L’Autantic trades on its rural heritage and offers a traditional Savoyard welcome.
