What Time is it? Countdown to #Winter.

Because my Mind Keeps Time Like Clockwork.
pop quiz: the lyric above is from what song and artist? clue: the rats have their first hit.
Today is the day to check your clocks and make sure they match the auto-time of your tech! Summertime has officially ended and your clocks should have changed overnight! The end of the summer means one thing; #winter is coming.
This month there has already been some excitement as both Kitzbuhel and Ruka ski resorts have opened early using snow they have ‘saved’ from last #winter – how do they do that?!
Ski Resorts that are glacially high are also opening up, as are those resorts with PR departments that are seeking the kudos of getting in first.

From what I can gather, the list below represents the ski resorts (that aren’t glaciers) that are now open for skiing in the 2018/19 #winter ski season:
- Arapahoe Basin
- Cervinia – linked to Zermatt
- Engelberg-Titlis
- Flims/Laax
- Idre Fjall
- Kabdalis
- Kitzbuhel – using snow saved from last year
- Mount Rose, Lake Tahoe
- Les Deux Alpes
- Loveland
- Ortles
- Ruka – using snow saved from last year
- Saas Fee
- Tignes/Val d’Isere
- Timberline
- Val Bernina
- Zermatt – linked to Cervinia
Unless you happen to be going to these places for some other reason; I wouldn’t be in a rush to book an early season trip; in my view every ski resort is much better once it is properly cold, has a good base of snow and a generous dump of fresh powder.
