La Plagne and Les Arcs are connect by the huge, 200 person, double decker ‘Vanoise Express’ cable car. Therefore, it takes just 4 minutes to cover the 2km which joins La Plagne to Les Arcs to form Paradiski.

Paradiski Ski Resort Review.

Paradiski is one of the biggest and most varied ski resorts in the world. As a result of with three glaciers, two peaks above 3,000m, 425km of pistes and a huge range of off-piste skiing.

Les Arcs.

Serious skiers will be attracted to Arc 2000 with its proximity to the Aiguille Rouge glacier, it also has fantastic doorstep skiing.

Arc 1950 is a purpose built village resort, traffic free and built in a Disney style.

Les Arcs is connected to La Plagne by the double decker Vanoise Express cable car.

La Plagne.

La Plagne comprises some ten villages, each with its own character and infrastructure. All share the same vast ski area and are linked to at least one other by a bus or cable car service until 1am.

The aptly named Belle Plagne is built in chalet style and is the most scenic. Plagne Soleil, Centre and Village are situated in a sunny bowl and offer great piste access. Aime la Plagne is the highest of the ten resorts and its impressive position is particularly appreciated by keen skiers.

The double decker Vanoise Express cable car connects La Plagne to Les Arcs.

Geneva and Chambéry airport both 150km (95miles).
La Plagne to Aime: 17km (10km).
Les Arcs to Bourg St Maurice: 15km (9 miles). Bus, coach and taxi services from Chambéry airport; train/bus from Aime and Bourg.

La Plagne: 1,250 – 3,250m (4,100-10,660ft).
Les Arcs: 1,600 – 2,450m (5,250 – 8,040ft).


Marked Pistes:
La Plagne: 225km.
Les Arcs: 200km.

La Plagne: 109.
Les Arcs: 76.


Types of Pistes:
La Plagne: 9% beginner, 86% intermediate, 5% advanced.
Les Arcs: 9% beginner, 86% intermediate, 5% advanced.


Main Advantages:
Two major resorts linked as Paradiski; hence snow-sure resorts and fast lift systems.


Drawbacks:
La Plagne: limited apès-ski; purpose-built central villages.
Les Arcs: purpose-built; little hotel accommodation.
