Before They’re Forever Banned?

pop quiz: the lyric above is from what song and artist? clue: Peter, Paul and Mary had the first hit, but they will always be Bob’s words.

Back in the 80s, the world (of snowboarding) was young. Anyone looking to find a snow field to shred would find it quite difficult. In the United State many resorts banned this ‘new-fangled’ device, labelling it a danger.

Today there are still three ski resorts in the United States that continue to ban snowboarding. Now, I’m a skier and encountering a ‘sit of boarders’ does annoy me now and again, but banning them – seems a bit extreme.

If you are a skier and still do not want to share your trails with boarders you should head to Deer Valley or Alta Ski Area, both in Utah, or Mad River Glen in Vermont.

pop trivia: ‘Bob Dillon’ wrote ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’ in 1962 for his second album ‘The Freewheelin’ Bob Dillon’. Possibly because they shared a manager; ‘Peter, Paul and Mary’ released their version of the song as a single in 1963 and had a huge hit.
