I have previously written about the burning of Sheffield Ski Village. This was in 2012 and there are plans from 2017 by Extreme Entertainment in conjunction with Sheffield City Council to rebuild. Still nothing!

Time moves on, so do the plans, so do the partners, but, as far as I can tell, there is still no work on the ground!

Since 2022, Skyline Enterprises, an adventure company from New Zealand, have been working in conjunction with Sheffield City Council on plans. This includes a commitment of £19.4million of Government backed levelling-up funding.

Sheffield City Council are promising a public consultation in September. So look out for details and do have your say. Support the work of Revive Sheffield Ski Village.

As far as I can tell the current plan is somewhat missing snow sport provision. For the next generation of Team GB snow sport atheletes I hope we see a ski slope return. And ball pits, trampolines, air bags and gymnastic training equipment. Please create a truly world class National Training Centre for future snowsport athletes.
