Too Old to Ski. Never, Keep Exercising and Keep Optimistic.

When I Get Older Losing My Hair.

A couple of years ago I wrote about Klaus Obermeyer, (pictured above) a man many deemed too old to ski. He was aged 95 but was still skiing every day. He admitted that he doesn’t zoom down double black diamonds the way he did when he was in his 20s, but he still skis daily, for at least an hour or two when conditions allow. “Being out in nature keeps you young,” he said.
Now, I’ve just discovered a Klaus trump-card, 101-year-old George Jedenhoff, surely he is too old to ski, but no. He skis with his retired son, Nick, in Alta and Snowbird in Utah. Besides doing a 45 minutes exercise programme every morning, George says the secret to his longevity is optimism. “Don’t let your problems get you down” George says. “Stay positive.”
