Meribel Ski Resort Review.

Meribel is located in the heart of Les 3 Vallees ski resort, with Val Thorens on the west and Courchevel to the east.

There are four separate villages which make up the ski resort of Meribel, each located at a different altitude.

Mottaret located at 1,800 meters is a purpose built family orientated ski in ski out village with accommodation in apartments and chalets.

The main Town Centre is located at 1,600m and has the bulk of the accommodation, shops, restaurants and nightlife.

The smaller Village located at 1,400 meters is an older quieter village with chalet accommodation.

The peaceful village of Les Allues located at 1,100 meters was the original Meribel Village which now has a gondola linking it to Meribel Mottaret.

A covered escalator connects the town centre with the ski base area, it can transport 9,000 passengers an hour. Meribel is extremely popular with British skiers, who make up nearly half of the resorts visitors, many of the seasonal workers and its permanent residents.
